Celene Gee's Travel Bag
How do I keep my skin healthy while I’m on the go? While travel can be a much needed escape, it can also put extra stress on your complexion and body. Dry airplane air, new timezones, unfamiliar foods, and changing climates can majorly throw your routine off track, leading to breakouts, dull skin, and dryness just to name a few.
Frequent traveler herself, Celene Gee knows a thing or two about maintaining a glow on the go. Whether you’re traveling for business, with family, or jet-setting solo, Celene has broken down her top tips for an effective travel bag to tackle anything that may come your way.
A Well Curated Travel Bag
“When it comes to travel beauty, there are 3 things I always consider: staying hydrated, maintaining clear skin, and not looking tired,” says Celene.
“To maintain these things, there are a few items that are always in my bag: a makeup wipe, a hyaluronic acid serum, a beauty tool, a lip balm, hand cream, and an eye cream - all mini sizes I promise!”
Cleanse
“The first thing to do once you are settled in your seat is to remove all your makeup,” says Celene. The new Gee Beauty Clean Sweep Cleansing Wipes are perfect for travel because they are individually wrapped so you only pack what you need. Ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, and cucumber extract work to hydrate, nourish, and calm the skin while ingredients like papaya and pineapple fruit extracts work to detoxify and cleanse the skin.
Hydrate
“Next, I apply a hyaluronic acid serum to stay as hydrated as possible,” says Celene. "I love Dr. Barbara Sturm's Hyaluronic Serum because aside from the intense hydration they also contain anti-inflammatory ingredients like purslane and skullcap that soothes my skin of any irritation that travelling can cause."
Next focus on the sensitive areas that are often forgotten but tend to dry out first - lips, hands, and eyes. After applying hyaluronic acid, it's important to lock in the moisture to combat the dry airplane air. "I don't go anywhere without the Gee Beauty Smoothing Lip Balm, the Dr. Sebagh High Maintenance Hand Cream, and Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes," says Celene. "All these products are TSA-approved and excellent and keeping me hydrated."
Soothe
“A beauty tool is an absolute must for calming the skin," says Celene. "Not to mention it's a great in-flight activity to pass the time!"
The Gee Beauty Gua Sha tool works to energize the skin and reduce puffiness, while it increases blood flow and flushes toxins via lymphatic drainage, giving a brightened and lifted appearance to the skin.
